Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, and finding every chance he can to be around nature, looking for the next hunt.
Ryan serves as Vice President of Finance at HealthRise. He is responsible for leading corporate strategic initiatives, as well as ensuring HIPAA compliance and data security. As a graduate of Michigan State, he often has heated debates with Peter over the merits his alma mater holds over Peter's. When not discussing collegiate athletics, Ryan is discussing needs and negotiating the best outcomes with our healthcare partners to maintain the long term success of HealthRise.
Peter is a master of all things revenue cycle and data analytics, who is able to partner effectively with stakeholders across health systems and use data to drive implementations, assessments, operations, and end to end process improvement. He now leads Business Development meeting with health systems across the country, touting the custom solutions and expertise that HealthRise has to offer. When not working in operations or business development, Peter (U of M Superfan) is often reminding us all of the success that the University of Michigan has had against in-state rivals Michigan State.
As the Vice President of Client Services, Marcos' workload is anything but light. That does not stop him from noticing the smallest imperfections in a Powerpoint slide or a misaligned margin indistinguishable to the naked eye. He is driven by perfection, and embodies our core value of Excellence. Marcos is a competitive leader, always working to make his team the best, whether it's his operations, pick-up basketball, or volunteer team, he makes it his mission to grow and mentor his teams so they too can produce excellent results time and again.
Judi (Judes!) is an operational leader who has a deep knowledge of all things revenue cycle. When not out riding motorcycles with her husband, Judi can be found leading large scale projects and teams, driving results through strong leadership. Her ability to understand and identify potential issues downstream and mitigate them before it arrives is what allows her to spend more time building key relationships and building team engagement.
If it exists within revenue cycle, Jim has done it, and excelled at it. His background includes both clinical and technical operations, allowing him to build teams with patient care and partner organization's well being in mind. A fiercely loyal leader, he builds his teams from the ground up, ensuring they have all the tools necessary to grow and be successful. In his downtime, Jim enjoys traveling the world, reading comics, and cats! Sorry dog lovers.
Emily has a passion for patient-centered process improvement. She is not afraid to tackle the most complex problems that come her way, often making the solution look effortless. Emily will get the best out of any team, whether it is a small, niche group, or a team of hundreds spanning multiple functional areas. Her organizational skills rival that of Marie Kondo, making her an extremely effective leader. Emily approaches all facets of her life (and revenue cycle of course) with a curiosity and drive to learn.
Ashley is an accomplished leader across the revenue cycle, driving teams to record setting success. She places high value in building relationships and growing the culture within her teams and partner organizations. When not creating gamified initiatives, improving metrics, or leading meetings at all hours of the day (and night!) Ashley channels her inner Carmen San Diego and travels the country and globe.
David (or "Worthy" as we call him) is our resident Epic expert and technology strategist. His keen ability to identify trends in EMR and software allows HealthRise to always be on the front lines of technology adoption and expertise. He is able to stay atop of industry trends in large part to his interns (children) who keep him busy and awake at all hours of the day and night. Aside from planning and scoping EMR projects and implementations, David enjoys hunting and time outdoors, often taking conference calls while on a walk.
Ian's approach to revenue cycle management centers around using data to develop strategy and building relationships with stakeholders from staff up through the C-suite to drive results. The only thing he watches nearly as closely as operational metrics are the scores of the U of M teams throughout the year. Ian has a competitive drive that is infectious with his teams, and leads them through everything from EHR to best practice implementations.
When you ask her what her main achievements were for the week, it could be a new record in AR reduction, cash posting, or finding and flawlessly executing on a new vegan recipe. Anna is a relentless pursuer of best practices, with a unique ability to communicate and create excitement around initiatives in everyone from entry level staff to C-suite executives. Outside of Revenue Cycle Management, Anna enjoys traveling with her husband Curtis and sons, and has served on several mission trips to Africa helping deliver quality medical care and supplies.
Bill has a solution for every problem in the best ways possible. With a career spanning every aspect of revenue cycle and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, he approaches projects with a knowledge, experience, and dry sense of humor. His expertise lies not only in revenue cycle management, but also in the creation of home hockey rinks that rival those in the NHL. Seriously, he built an electronic scoreboard, because like revenue cycle, he doesn't believe in "just good enough".
Gina has led revenue cycle teams to success across the country and globe. She has expertise across the revenue cycle, specializing in front end and mid-cycle operations. Her penchant for denials mitigation and prevention is unrivaled at HealthRise. Gina is no stranger to fast paced environments, and is able to operate effectively regardless of the obstacles in her way. Aside from the revenue cycle, Gina enjoys driving ATV's and her favorite drink, Dr. Pepper.
Jane is a Patient Access guru who has a passion for customer excellence and satisfaction. She has a wealth of experience in Joint Commission surveys and preparedness, leading her teams and partner organizations to passing marks at each survey. Jane keeps a keen eye not only on her teams' metrics, but also her alma mater's football team on any given Saturday in the Fall.
Regardless of how large the project or complex the problem, Jill is able to pull the appropriate levers to deliver a simplified solution. Jill is an expert in process improvement and employee training and education who is able to bring out the best in both people and processes. Able to find the best in everything, Jill is a leader who always has a smile on her face regardless of how complex the problem or project is.
An expert in all things Accounts Receivable, Kathy has found success across the country leading teams. She has a unique ability to speak the language of both operations and IT, making her an EHR enabler, aligning operations and IT teams to achieve common goals. When she is not coordinating revenue cycle operations, Kathy can be found spending time with her horses and family.
An accomplished denials expert, hunter, and paranormal investigator, Lee brings a light hearted sense of humor and positive attitude to every project. With experience across the revenue cycle and a team first approach he is able to provide the tactical and strategic vision needed and the engagement from his teams to execute that vision. When not identifying the root causes of denials, Lee can be found hunting whatever is in season, the paranormal on his TV show, or spending time with his grand-dogs (shout-out Penny and Lola), wife and daughter.
Matthew is our resident HB and PB expert. Over the course of his career he has led teams from Patient Access, Revenue Integrity, and both HB and PB billing. His full-cycle knowledge makes him a tremendous asset and go-to whenever a question arises. He is a calm, detail oriented operator with an infectious positive demeanor. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys taking some well deserved time off with his family, traveling, and learning about anything and everything.
Michele is a full-cycle expert whose off-the-charts energy levels translate to each project she takes on. With a focus on initiatives that impact partner organizations at a foundational level, Michele approaches each project and opportunity with the best possible outcomes in mind and at the end of her work plans. She is also quick with a joke, and to the dance floor with her husband, who put the rest of us to shame.
Rick is an operations and IT subject matter expert, able to lead projects from both functional areas across the revenue cycle. He engages all levels of staff to drive change with a focus on patient, staff, and the organization's needs. Rick tackles each project with a precision and ease that rivals his jump shot.
Stacey is a Revenue Integrity expert having worked in both consulting and operations roles from large health systems down to home health organizations. She understands both clinical and finance related workflows, and is laser focused on metrics. In her downtime, Stacey enjoys winning Trivia night, and spending time with her family.
